What Your First Visit Includes
Your first visit is all about getting to know you and giving you the information you need. It’s complimentary, and there’s no pressure to decide anything right away.
We’ll walk you through:
- A comprehensive orthodontic exam
- Digital X-rays, photos, and a scan
- A one-on-one consultation with your board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Whitney
- An honest, expert recommendation about what’s next
- Treatment options, timing, and next steps
- A clear breakdown of your insurance and financing options
What Happens at Your First Orthodontist Appointment
Step 1: A Warm Welcome
From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be welcomed by a friendly team who truly cares, and that never changes.
We’ll take a few minutes to get to know you, learn what brought you in, and help you feel comfortable in our space.
Our goal is for this visit to feel relaxed, personal, and positive before anything clinical begins.
Step 2: Gentle, Modern Imaging
Next, we’ll gather the information needed to fully understand your smile using comfortable, low-dose digital technology.
This may include digital X-rays, a quick smile scan with our MEDIT digital scanner, and a CBCT scan if necessary to get a comprehensive view of how your teeth, jaws, and bite are working together.
Step 3: Time With Dr. Whitney
You’ll then spend dedicated, one-on-one time with Dr. Whitney.
She personally evaluates every smile and sits with every patient, walking you through what she sees, explaining what it means, and answering every question you have.
If treatment is recommended, she’ll explain why and outline your options. If it’s not time yet, you’ll leave knowing exactly what to watch for and when to check back in.
Either way, you’ll leave with clarity and confidence.
Step 4: Clear Financial Guidance
If you’re comfortable and ready to move forward, our team will review insurance and financing options with you.
We’ll review your insurance benefits, explain interest-free payment options, and create a customized plan that fits your family’s needs.
You’ll always know what’s included, how your plan works, and what to expect moving forward.
Step 5: A Confident Path Forward
By the end of your visit, you’ll have a clear understanding of your smile, your options, and your next steps.
For some patients, treatment can even start the same day. If clear braces or traditional metal braces are the right fit, we’re happy to place them during your initial visit.
For custom treatments, like KLOwen™ braces or Angel Aligner™ clear aligners, we’ll take your smile scan and begin the process to create your custom braces or aligners.
