Early Orthodontic Treatment
Orthodontics for Kids
Every child’s smile grows in its own time. At Stella Maris Orthodontics in Willis TX, early care is rooted in thoughtful guidance and peace of mind for parents, not rushing into treatment.
As both a board-certified orthodontist and a mom, Dr. Whitney understands how important these decisions are. She carefully evaluates your child’s smile and bite development and recommends treatment only when the timing is right.
When should my child see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic check-up by age 7.
At this age, we can evaluate how the jaw is growing, how permanent teeth are developing, and whether any concerns would benefit from early guidance.
For many children, the right next step is simply monitoring growth.
Rising Stars Club
If your child isn’t quite ready for orthodontic treatment, they’ll join our Rising Stars Club. Through this complimentary observation program, Dr. Whitney gently monitors growth and development so we can guide treatment at just the right time.
Rising Stars also get to be part of the fun through our Stella Maris Rewards Program, earning points for healthy habits and positive visits along the way.
But sometimes, early guidance shouldn’t wait.
